Uses for 20000 litre poly water tanks

Plastic water tanks come in all shapes and sizes and the very large tanks such as the 20000 litre JoJo polyethylene water tank has a very useful water storage capacity for industrial, agricultural and public applications.

The 20000 liter JoJo water tank is probably the biggest poly water tank available in South Africa.  There are many advantages of poly tanks over equivalent steel or concrete tanks, including lower cost, easier transport & installation, chemical & corrosion resistance and availability.

The big 20000 liter water tanks can be used in the following sectors:

Agriculture

These large tanks are ideal for temporary storage of irrigation water prior to or after filtration.  Heavy duty versions of 20000 litre tanks can be used for liquid fertiliser storage and mixing.  A series of 20000 litre tanks can also be a substitute for a water reservoir or dam (10x 20000 liter tanks can provide 200000l or 200kl of water storage).  The advantage of poly water tanks is that they are portable and can be moved to where they are required.  Good quality polyethylene water tanks also have a long life expectancy, often comparable to steel or concrete structures.  Forestry fire-fighting services will also find the large storage capacity useful.

Industry

Factories and warehouses that require water for manufacturing processes can have stored water on the premises in case of costly municipal supply outages.  Factories often have ideal rooftops for rainwater harvesting making rainwater collection a very viable way of reducing water bills (a series of 20000 liter tanks placed along the walls of a factory could store very useful quantities of rainwater).

Public buildings

Schools, hospitals, military installations and other government buildings should always have an alternative or back-up supply of water in case of water supply disruptions.  The aforementioned buildings are also inherently ideal for rainwater harvesting and in some cases, could become totally water self-sufficient (at least during the rainy season).  The limiting factor in most instances is adequate water storage capacity; a series of 20000 litre water tanks should provide days or weeks of emergency water supply.  Community centres and water supply points (filled by water tankers) would also benefit from the extra water storage capacity that these 20000 litre water tanks offer.

20000 litre water tanks are huge and may not always fit in a specified area.  In this case, the 10000 litre water tank or 15000 litre water tank may be a better option.
