The South African Weather Service has advised the public that with the onset of winter on the horizon, it is highly recommended that water saving measures continue across the country.
Most of the local and international forecasting systems consistently indicate that South Africa’s summer rainfall areas may expect wetter conditions during the latter parts of the summer season going into early Autumn. The likelihood which slightly favours wetter conditions however remains relatively low. Temperatures are predicted to be slightly higher than usual however there is a high amount of uncertainty involved.

Some relief of drought conditions has occurred over the eastern and north eastern parts of the country but the central western parts of the country are still experiencing relatively dry conditions.
Observation show that EL Nino has moved into a neutral position from the previous weak La Nina state.
