Read labels on cleaning products- look out for harmful ingredients and key watchwords as explained in the video below.

Good, simple advice.  Some commercial eco-friendly cleaning products are cheaper than their conventional, potentially harmful counterparts.  An earlier post looked at the harmful substances that common household detergents from in waste water.  If grey water recycling systems are used for irrigation purposes, then environmentally friendly detergents are mandatory.  See Water Rhapsody’s greywater faq for more information.
