The Global Agenda Council on Water Security, comprised of leading experts from business, government, academia and civil society, provides thought leadership to the Forum’s activities and events on the topic of water security. The current focus of the Water Security Council is the water-energy-food nexus, which poses significant strategic growth concerns to the global community.
This Council’s work demonstrates the strength of the Network of Global Agenda Councils as an incubator for ideas, providing a space for individuals from all backgrounds to create solutions and help solve one of the world’s most pressing issues: water security.
See Water Security– an international problem but acute in South Africa. The gravity of the looming water crisis has not been acknowledged by the vast majority of people who are living above the poverty line (see Water Crisis Time Bomb Ticking). Perhaps it is still too easy to simply turn on a tap and to expect clean, safe water to always be available. In South Africa, the water crisis is already affecting the poor and it will soon be affecting even affluent people. When there’s no clean water available, no amount of money will be able to procure it. This is why everyone should be conserving water and becoming more water self-sufficient now. Rainwater harvesting and grey water reuse/recycling are two practical ways of achieving this (in addition to adopting water-saving habits- see Flushing out water savings). Becoming environmentally friendly almost always results in short and long term financial savings as well as health benefits.
Water Rhapsody Water Conservation Systems Mpumalanga offers water tank and rainwater tank installation, rainwater harvesting systems, grey water recycling and water-saving devices for swimming pools and toilet flush systems (see product demo ). Our WWF Award-winning water systems can be retrofitted or built into new buildings and can be adapted to small households or large business blocks, hospitals, schools, lodges & hotels.
Water Rhapsody has incorporated Yes Solar– official distributor of German-made Solsquare solar water heating systems that are installed by Eskom-accredited solar installers (our solar geysers are eligible for Eskom solar energy rebates). We are authorized JoJo Water Tank dealers and Atlas Plastics water tank suppliers in Mpumalanga and Limpopo Province (best water tank prices in the Lowveld!). We are also able to supply sanitary hardware such as waterless toilets through our JoJo Tanks and Atlas Plastics dealerships.
