Water crisis time bomb ticking

August 27, 2010An 800 sq. ft. zero-energy house that is completely powered by the sun. A house that wakes you up, tells you how its doing and dresses for the weather. We think it is the future. Someone once said, innovation starts with a dream. Dreams can be in the form of solar-powered houses named after the BauHaus movement, and innovation, in the form of LUMENHAUS, right?
Sustainable living involves limiting environmental impact and making use of renewable resources wherever possible (for example, using natural building materials). It may be unrealistic for many people to go ahead and build a new house such as the Lumenhaus but it is relatively easy to make your existing home more eco-friendly and to become water- and energy self-sufficient. The Lumenhaus video above does not showcase any rainwater harvesting (or rainwater tanks) or grey water recycling systems. Rainwater harvesting and greywater systems make water consumption in your home far more sustainable and they save you money on water bills. Contact us for the best water conservation systems in South Africa (we are authorized JoJo Water Tank dealers too). Our Yes Solar Mpumalanga dealership can supply you with a wide range of high-quality, Eskom & SABS-approved solar water heating systems (our solar geysers are eligible for Eskom renewable energy rebates).
