Large-scale solar power plants can also harness the sun’s energy from deserts. Where smaller countries cannot spare land for solar energy plants, they may be able to place them offshore (see Green Power Island).  Smaller scale or domestic solar water heating can be accomplished relatively easily by homeowners and businesses alike. Rooftops are ideal for solar panels, especially in South Africa where most areas experience more than 2500 hours of sunshine per year.  Water Rhapsody is now a Yes Solar dealer; we provide impartial advice on solar panels, solar water heating systems and of course water conservation systems (rainwater harvesting, grey water recycling and JoJo water tanks).
